Situated on the Catacombs of Saint Domitilla, this magnificent castle was owned by the Royal Family Savoia and then of the Cardinal de Merode "Minister of the Weapons" of the Vatican last century. The splendid estate, that was abode of Marianna of Savoia in the beginning of the 1800’s to the Duchess of Chablais, daughter of the King of Sardinia Vittorio Amedeo III and sister of Charles Felice, has passed subsequently in inheritance to the Family de Villefranche that restored the hamlets on it, created the italian style garden and the actual setup of the park.
