Villa Ottoboni, which gives its name also the restaurant and the hotel, represent an example of architecture of the late fifteenth century. This wonderful residence with its aristocratic splendor keeps nowadays its unchanged style, despite the minor signs of the time. Ottoboni Family became the owner in the 1579, when Dionora Basalù decided to buy this beautiful residence. Dianora was the window of "Ser Marco Antonio", the great chancellor of the Republic of Venice and the grandmother of Pietro Ottoboni, the next pope Alexandre VIII. During the period of most splendor of this family, ladies and knights met in this wonderful residence, on the occasion of the hunting season. In this period Pietro Ottoboni became pope under the name of Alexandre VIII, moreover the family obtained many investitures.
