Located within the Val dOrcia Heritage Park lies the castle and hamlet of COSONA. Surrounded by the 1200 acre home farm, Cosona Castle enjoys magnificent views over a picturesque hilly landscape decked with olive groves just south of Siena. Though substantially restored in the early 20th century, the castle itself is very ancient, and has belonged to the Forteguerri family since 1465, when Cardinal Niccolò Forteguerri purchased it from King Ferdinando of Aragona. Of the castles various annexes and appurtenances, some have been recently restored and totally refurbished to create four delightful independent accommodations. LeonciniComprises one large bedroom, with double bed, one other bedroom, 2 bathrooms, one equipped kitchen with cooker, refrigerator and dish-washer, a sitting room with dining table.
