Description:
During the second half of the 18th century, the 'post office' entrusted with the collection and transportation of people and documents, was situated in the famous Marchese Palace. Within a short time, the building became the Locanda della Posta, the only hotel in the city of Perugia. It's noble origins ensured it quickly became regarded as the highest expression of Perugian hospitality. Famous personalities of the time, when stopping over in the the city, always stayed at the Locanda. In 1786, the hotel was host to the poets Heinse and Goethe, in 1802 to the philosopher Humboldt, in 1824 to Frederick II of Prussia and in 1833 to the author Andersen. Of course much has changed since then and the hotel has recently been completely renovated. But the 'old world' charm, the exclusivity and the uniqueness of the Locanda della Posta remain. IN THE VERY HEART OF PERUGIA An apt description as the Locanda della Posta is the only Hotel that faces onto the famous Corso Vannucci, with its cafe-lined promenade the meeting place for Perugians and visitors alike, truly the heart of Perugia. Located in one of the most beautiful palaces of the city, the Hotel retains to this day the timeless hotel service tradition that rose out of the 1700's. IN THE CENTRE OF INTERESTS Whether it be for leisure or business, any trip to Perugia really deserves a stay at the Locanda Della Posta. At the Locanda enjoying a relaxing stay really means enjoying the ultimate in exclusivity: the Hotel is set in the very heart of the Historic Centre of Perugia, merely steps away from monuments and masterpieces of Italian Art. A MODERN CLASSIC The Locanda della Posta is not just a suggestion of the timeless hotel tradition. It is a modern structure that has managed to combine the functionality of modern comforts with classic elegance, to render your stay in Perugia unforgettable.
