Description:
At the heart of the second-largest Renaissance complex in Europe, terraced gardens, ornamental pools and waterfalls, balustrated galleries subtly recrreate a Tuscan garden in the very shade of LA TOUR ROSE. It is here taht a cook-cum-esthete culivates the related traditions of silk and gastronomy. Molière is said to have lived there for three years. Philippe Chavent will welcome you for a stay which is timeless. LA TOUR ROSE is a maison d'hotes with twelve suites set aside to tell the textile history of Lyon and appropriately decorated by eleven Lyon silk manufacturers and the corporation of dyers and finishers. The fabrics are enhanced by the way they are set out in space, by the furnishing and by a sometimes unusual use of textiles, all of which combine to create a refined and welcoming atmosphere. From the Fortunity plissé (named after its Venetian inventor) to the exclusive furniture in carbon fibre, textile art goes through a full cycle in time.
